I buy very tasty tea and am tired of putting so many particles through different metal strainers when making iced tea. I simply fill in as much as I need to make a gallon, close the bag and secure the strings to the rim of the jar with a tie clip. I pour about a liter of boiling water, let it brew to the desired level of readiness, take it out and add water and ice to fill it. After it has cooled, I turn it inside out, shake out the tea grounds and rinse thoroughly with cold water. Pat between layers of cloth or paper towel, then allow to dry. I've used them several times (still on rotation 2) and they work great. Iced tea does not contain any unwanted tea particles. I only gave 4 stars for the durability, since the strings are very thin depending on the load and may not last long. For what I use them for, not a single string has broken or frayed. I tied them together at the ends before using them for the first time. If one of them breaks I see no reason why you can't just put in a new piece of rope.
