Review on πŸ”₯ Deflecto Indoor Venting Dryer Lint Trap Kit with Supurr-Flex Flexible Metallic Duct and Clamps (LTF) by Johnny Burns

Substitute for the six-year-old

Actually, I haven't even opened the box yet. But it replaces the same item from about 6 years ago, so this review is really about that. The previous owner added an extension to our house so the laundry room is no longer on the outside wall. For years we just lived with lint, vacuuming once a week and picking up what we could. Not exactly 100% effective and actually a fire hazard because some of it ended up in the oven. Ouch! I found this almost by accident and although I would try. It really works. Not the most comfortable device, and in summer the extra humidity in the air doesn't help, but it's a lot better than what we've done before. The original still works, but after six years the plastic starts to age. slightly brittle from heat and hard water residue. A few years ago I started using dehumidifier water instead, which I save for use as a "touchless rinse". (You can't use it to drink, but it makes great car wash water.) This helps with hard water. But the only reason I have a spare ready is because we are buying a new dryer. The rest of the original still works. So if you can't ventilate to the outside, this is an adequate, if not ideal, solution.
