Review on πŸ”§ Customized Additive Manufacturing Products: Creality Silent Mainboard Upgrade by Chris Brazington

Revainrating 5 out of 5

OK. Really quiet. Indeed.

I was skeptical. I have an Ender 3 Pro with board version 4.2.2. When I measured the sound with the sound meter on my phone, it was 43 dB (silent library). It was very quiet, but I felt that the level of noise warranted a visit from the Ghostbusters ghost librarian. I printed with it for a week using a breadboard. Tonight I decided to try the board and if there was no significant difference I would return it. . . . That . is . Ооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооооо. As a quick test, I printed out the calibration cube. Now he's sitting on my elbow and I have to look around to see if he's still typing. The sound level meter shows 39 dB, but that's not true. Fans are the limiting factor for noise. If you could get quieter fans, you'd be missing out even more. People always talk about R2D2 3D printer noise. Well, they are no more. Now I'm a fan of this board and will praise it wherever I talk about this printer.

Pros
  • Overheat protection activated. The silent motherboard is circuit-optimized and effectively solves the heating problem.
