DO NOT buy if you want to keep your operating system up to date! , and more importantly, security improvements to protect your data. I had this product less than a month when Apple released the new operating system. I use this with my work laptop and my company (like most companies) waited a while to install this OS update on our computers to ensure all bugs were fixed and the OS was compatible with all our systems. StarTech has had plenty of time to either update this product's firmware or notify its customers that the new operating system will render this product unusable! After upgrading to a new operating system, this product could no longer be expanded to a second display. Instead, it can duplicate a very pixelated, low-resolution desktop onto a second monitor, rendering it unusable. So if you want to mirror a blurry version of your desktop onto a second monitor (again, useless), this product is for you!
