Not a very good sound, this is a soundbar, not particularly expensive and wireless. All of which makes it a far cry from the solid sound that a receiver and wired speakers, even cheap ones, can offer. If I were to do it again, I would go this route, even if I bought used equipment instead. Others have reported that the rear speakers make grating noises at times, mine actually do. It doesn't last long, so the annoying audio shouldn't ruin the whole movie. Pairing seemed difficult, but not so when I called Polk and got a secret handshake on how to do it. If you already have a soundbar, be sure to add speakers. If you are starting from scratch, get a used surround receiver, even a basic one, and buy 5 used speakers, 2 better ones in the front, a center speaker and 2 smaller ones in the back. Sbe can do it for the same $500+ it normally costs.
