It could be great

So I bought this controller because I've been using the Gamesir G3 wired controller for the past few years. It was a great controller and it has held up. However, I decided it was time to move on to wireless technology. The G3S is no longer for sale, so this is Gamesir's latest offering for a wireless controller that mimics the design of the Playstation controller. Ergonomics I really liked the feel of the PS4 controller, especially the shoulder buttons. This controller mimics the PS4 controller pretty closely, so it's almost 100% identical. If you liked the feel of the PS4 controller in your hands, chances are you'll love this one too. All buttons are placed sensibly and are easily accessible. However, my main issue is that the home button is not in the middle of the gamepad like most others. In fact, it is located at the top right next to the L1 / L2 keys. While holding the controller, you have to extend your left index finger to press it, which is far from ideal. The controller has a leather-like texture on the grips that feels really nice in your hands. It's lighter than the PS4 controller, but not by much. Buttons The ABXY's buttons are pleasant to the touch and tactile, if a bit noisy. The D-Pad is similar to the PS4, which I've never complained about. Joysticks are good, bumpers too. I think triggers are a big problem. They have huge dead zones. You have to press them almost halfway until they register. At first I thought I had a lemon so I bought a second one but they are exactly the same. Not to mention that the triggers end up feeling pretty soft/spongy and you can't tell when they're fully depressed. The start and select buttons are also very soft. You have to push them with more force than expected to propel them. Not perfect. Compatibility This controller registers itself as an Xbox controller on my Windows 10 PC and works with all the games I've tried with it. There are no problems on the PC. This controller also works with Android via Bluetooth. It works, but the connection is either random or not. There is some Bluetooth lag that I didn't experience when using a wired controller connected directly to my phone. This controller also works with physical Steam Link hardware, just plug and play. Ease of use The controller is pretty easy to use for the most part. Holding the home button toggles it on and off. You have to hold down the home button + the face button depending on which mode you want to use. It should be noted that using the controller with both a PC and Android phone and keeping the 2.4GHz dongle connected to the PC at all times can get a bit fiddly. I had to unplug the dongle from my PC to allow the controller to connect to my phone. A bit annoying but not too serious. If you only use it for PC or only for Android, this shouldn't be a problem. Build quality Build quality is good. Head and shoulders over cheaper third-party controllers. The plastic doesn't bend or flex and is a good weight. Overall I really wanted to like this controller but it has some glaring flaws that prevented me from giving it 5 stars such as: B. Dead zone / soft trigger. , soft start buttons and a bad Bluetooth connection.
