Contrary to the description, this toaster is NOT designed for bagels. Yes, you can cut a bagel in half and press it into the slit (with difficulty), but your bagel will burn and crisp on the outside long before it's even warm in the middle. Overall I am disappointed with this toaster and would not recommend it. Other things worth noting: The toaster is very small. This might be fine for a small apartment or RV, but not for a home. The toaster is great for toasting bread and is great for English muffins. Even at the highest temperature, it takes 2 cycles to toast an English muffin. There are no "Cancel" buttons. For example, if you feel your bagel is on fire and you want to get it out quickly, you need to turn the knob all the way. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because the toaster stays cool outside.
