Here is my final review of this piece of furniture (and others from the same company/set). Years. Anything you need to build I would categorize as cheap furniture, which sadly makes up almost everything in my house. The instructions were pretty simple and easy to follow. All parts and pieces were present, which I can't say about the previous builds I've done. Depending on the piece of furniture, many wooden dowels are used. I would recommend using wood glue to add structural strength. I built four parts in six hours. Two compact shelves, a laundry basket and a large corner shelf. Three items came from the RiverRidge Ellsworth Collection and one from Ashland.------------------------------PROS: These items are very Well. Especially the Elsworth collection. They appear to be quite durable, although I do expect some degradation over time. The Ashland Spacer definitely seemed cheaper and was a lot smaller than I expected. Overall, they have added charm and elegance to both bathrooms. For cheap furniture. CONS: Toxic fumes! I smoke most of my life and I can't smell where there are pros and cons. However, my wife is very sensitive to chemical smells. In our guest bathroom we used a room (Ashland). The smell was clear but not overpowering. It was bearable. In the master we used a basket, a space saver and a large corner shelf (Ellsworth). According to my wife, it was harmful. Although I couldn't smell it, I had sensitive sinuses that became inflamed and made me dizzy. My wife had to sleep in our daughter's bedroom last night because the smell was too strong. (Less than 24 hours from furniture assembly.) No smell of paint. It doesn't smell like wood. Pretty strong toxic smell of glue. Something similar to the repairs we made to our hardwood floor after it was damaged by the flood. A combination of several elements that are placed in a narrow space, such as a A bathroom, for example, can result in heavy smoke emissions, while a single element in an open space may be easier to handle.----------- ------ ---- --- I put the furniture outside and plan on leaving it there until the smell goes away (sorry I already attached the end caps). I would suggest building the items in your garage (if you have one). If someone has a strong reaction to chemical smells, I would say no. Or at least keep him out of the house until he's bearable. I don't know how long it will take. The woman tries various tricks to help (wipe with white vinegar and cover with baking soda). If I had known plays were so tedious, I would have given them up. They were a headache, literally and figuratively.
