Review on 🍢 Sapphire Replacement Filters for Pitchers - Pack of 3 by Clint Mcloven

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Don't quite get there.

I am not happy with the Sapphire replacement filters (I use them in the classic Brita jug) because they are so cheap. But I thought it might be helpful to mention that I really doubt they filter as well as the original Brita filters. I live in San Diego and our water tastes the worst because it has quite a lot of dissolved salts. Replaceable sapphire filters are significantly inferior in improving water taste compared to Brita. Water tastes a lot better than tap water, yes, but it doesn't taste very good either. The original Brita filters actually make the water very clean and sweet, almost like bottled water. I think you all want to know. The filter cartridges are far from filled with activated carbon, and the carbon is mixed with another material - it looks like sand. I don't know if it's sand, but it looks like sand and it's not activated charcoal (or charcoal). I'm worried about it. It looks like these filter cartridges are thinned or damaged. Of course I can't test the material, but there is so little activated carbon in the sealed canister that it seems obvious to me that the product is counterfeit. should be warned. I have nothing against the Chinese themselves, but as we all know, many goods from China are of dubious quality and often counterfeit.

Pros
  • High test scores for hold and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other filters
