Holes for larger tool. I used a 3/8 breaker. Removing these anodes can require a lot of torque. Small screwdrivers fit in stock holes and you can't get enough torque with short screwdrivers. Or leave the original holes and drill your own so you can get a longer screwdriver to get more torque. Inch breaker solves the problem of removing the anode rod from hard-to-reach places.
