The filter works perfectly, the water tastes good. I have no problems with polyurethane filters. However, the PUR unit is a clear mistake on the part of the PUR. My old bar chart block worked fine but started to leak after years of use. So I replaced it with a new PUR device with LED display. But the indicator is basically useless. The instructions say the filter is good for 100 gallons, but the LED turns RED after 15 gallons, which the instructions say I should replace the filter. The unit is clearly wrong. I would suggest changing the filter after a year or when the water stops tasting as good. BUT DON'T LOOK AT THE USE LED, THIS IS NEVER CORRECT. PUR needs to fix their system, it's obviously not perfect.
