I've had this system for a long time and I really wanted it to be a system I could brag about. It's not like this. I bought a soundbar and a wireless subwoofer. This is not a failure of the technology, but of the sound design. Its malfunction is related to the HEOS software that controls it. Without the software, the dynamics are just one giant building block. The software lacks an interface worthy of a premium sound system. It's not reliable and lacks real volume controls. Denon seems to have decided that only they know what a sound system should sound like and have created software that could just as easily be a ready-made one-dimensional system. To top it off, it mostly stops working randomly, noise levels fluctuate and go flat. Then I have to reboot the system which is a real pain to say the least. I'm just glad I decided to hold off on buying additional surround speakers. If you want a sound system where they make all the adjustments for you and rely on their adjustments, then this is your system.
