I'm tired of being scammed by big printers. If a typical junk company printer runs out of one color, say yellow, you're forced to buy another yellow, even if the printer is now set to only print in black. Why do I need yellow to print black? Oh yeah, because it's a SCAM! Buy yellow and in a month the printer will say the red is over. But red is not empty, it is blocked, HORSE! Buy a new red and soon the printer will say it's blue. How can it be from blue if I haven't made a color image since I used up all the yellow? FRAUD Well, no more Pantum scams! After preparing the printer (remove protective tape, pull protective strip, insert paper) I connected it to an older Mac with OSX 10.7.5. Device switched on, copy paper inserted and "Copy" pressed. TADAA! Printed quickly and beautifully. Download the drivers from the supplied CD to the hard drive. Open the letter and click Print. TADAA! He printed! This is a no BS car. Super easy to set up, super easy to use, looks great, prints great, prints fast! Paid only $109 (Nov 2019) and comes with starter cartridge. The display showed 3 out of 5 "bars" for the supplied cartridge. Since a new cartridge yields approximately 1600 pages, the supplied cartridge should print 640-960 pages (320 per strip) with correct indicator strips. A new 1600-page cartridge costs about $45. That's a great price considering the estimated number of pages it can print. Let's hope aftermarket companies start making cartridges and bring that price down even more. The great thing about this printer is NO STUPID COLOR! No more color cheating! I didn't install the wireless feature as I won't be using it, so no comment on that. The only downside I can think of is the paper tray, which isn't internal. But that's not so bad, because the inner shell provides more volume and certainly also increases the price. If you're looking for an amazing machine that just works and doesn't cheat, Pantum ROCKS!
