I decided to buy a laptop for a kid so I could teach him how to program. Initially, I was interested in a compact desktop, but after reading the evaluation, I understood that a laptop would be more affordable overall. The HP brand was chosen because there are other HP laptops in the family. When keyboards, touchpads, and other devices function consistently, you become accustomed to their layout and other motions. Also a huge plus, the power supply are compatible. In general, the characteristics included IPS, a reasonably capable processor, RAM, and disk. Only HP offers IPS in this price range, up to 30. (plus or minus a couple of thousand). According to benchmarks, Pentium Gold is the best CPU in this group, followed by AMD Athlon Gold 3150U and Intel Core i3 Tipi 10110U. Memory needed to be at least 8. And this variant had a 500 SSD, which was twice as much storage for the same price as previous models. I examined the manufacturer's website in advance to confirm that there isn't a keyboard backlight. Though unpleasant, it is not really significant. Nonetheless, even on costly HP versions, the keyboard backlighting is only mediocre. It did not bother me that Windows was not already installed on the device, but it did foreshadow more time wasted. An SSD drive twice as big as comparable competitors in this price range had an impact on the decision. The same could not be found, and the body of this one turned out to be very pleasant, corrugated, and not cheap plastic. A lot of time was spent looking for "the same but white," but in vain β the same could not be found. The laptop arrived at home without incident three hours after the order, according to allegations (thanks to the seller). As there was just DOS available, I had no time to prepare and was unable to thoroughly examine the pixels (and the manager, when ordering, as always, offered additional paid services, including checking dead pixels, which I, as always, refused). Yet, my worries were in vain because nothing was broken and everything functioned as it should. After setting up Windows, I had to manually download and install each driver from the HP website in order for the touchpad, wifi adapter, and other devices to function. I performed a driver search using the term "14s-dq2022."
