Review on Watercolor Artist Grade Paint Set - Paul Rubens 24 Colors, Art Solid Cakes with Palette and Journal for Artists and Painters by Carol Miller

I usually use Daniel Smith watercolors, but they are very expensive. For cost reasons, I only have a limited range. Not good at mixing my own colors, I decided to switch to a palette with pleasant colors. I was waiting for Prime Day to make my final choice for a new color when I stumbled across an unfamiliar brand, Paul Reubens. . I did a little research and found that many artists love this brand for its non-fading and artist-grade qualities. So I bought a set of 24 pans to try. To my great surprise, the set came in a solid pink palette with a soft shummy. Paul Rubens also included a small watercolor journal perfect for urban sketches. I tried colors and now I like them. They are rich in color with good transparency and some graininess. The palette has a good balance of tones between its halves. I wish the Payne gray was a little less blue, it's more indigo than warm grey, and I wish there was more pink in the palette, but other than that I'm very happy with the brand and plan on getting the tubes at a price point buy later date. The quality is there. My only issue is the pink palette box and pink cover on the sketchbook! Not my favorite color. (I later discovered that you can get black-covered sketchbooks, which is amazing.) But I won't take a star off this product based on personal color preferences. Although the glass is pink it is of excellent quality and will make a durable travel palette. If you're looking for an art quality color that won't break the bank, this is a good option to experiment with and I recommend this product.
