It was not possible to wipe the entire surface.
I removed the original rear wiper from my Volvo XC 90. I put it on and just wipe the glass with the top half of the brush. Beyond where it snaps, it lifted and then only lightly touched the ground. I ended up removing it and reinstalling the original Volvo wiper. I couldn't figure out how to get it to wipe the entire surface.
