My 9 year old nephew has been dealing with a painful and embarrassing sore around his mouth (Cheilitis) for months which is causing a red, scaly, itchy rash around his created mouth. Several doctors who saw it had no idea what caused it; even an allergist. After doing my own research, I found that many people are allergic to cinnamon and discovered that many common toothpastes have a chemical derivative of cinnamon (cinnamaldehyde or cinnamyl alcohol) in the ingredient list. Raspberry flavor changed the life of this little 9 year old.
