We found out because she drove to my house in a car with zero odometer reading. If there really weren't any oil pressure, the engine would stall, which it isn't. And there was a lot of oil in the crankcase. So a quick google showed me that this oil pressure switch was a common and highly likely problem. Installed it last night. and now her oil pressure gauge on the dash shows normal oil pressure. Pretty simple build. Many YouTube videos mention removing the oil filter first, which I didn't. It could be a Must have been a teaspoon or two of the motor oil that spilled out of the hole when I removed the old switch, so have a rag handy.
