I bought the device over 6 months ago and I'm glad I waited so long to review it. Loved it at first, although putting it in the vent broke the lever on the vent that I use to direct the air. I have a 14 year old car and I knew it was a cheap product so I thought it was a mixed bag. My sole purpose in purchasing this item was to have an alternative to my AMAZING Ram Mount Twist Lock Windshield Suction Cup Phone Mount. In summer the phone gets too hot to leave on the windshield so I needed a vent mount to keep it cool. I couldn't afford something higher end like the Ram ($46) so I looked for something more reasonable but with good reviews. Well, like I said, it was a good start. It worked for months to keep my phone visible, hands-free, and cool. But lately it's literally falling apart: - The grippy rubber band holding the phone has slipped off the plastic frame - The spring-loaded plastic part comes out of the base (the part that holds it in the vent) every time I try . to put my phone in - and like I said above, just fitting it into the vent, breaking a piece of the vent (and bending the vent rods forever) Overall the quality is very low. Just weak and will fall apart with heat or moderate use. I will be back online to buy another vent holder or another holder that will allow the phone to get air conditioning. And this time I pay more for higher quality.
