Review on COOAU 12.5” Portable DVD Player: HD Swivel Screen, 5-Hour Battery, Region-Free, USB/SD Support, Purple by Sammie Rodriguez

I bought this purple player because of the discounted price and good reviews. As others have described, the product comes with some nice extras (e.g. a remote control). I'm only giving this rating for basic adult use (not children) as I bought the player for very basic adult use. I think it's important to note. I needed a portable, battery powered player that I could use while working on the computer, folding laundry, etc. while watching some of my favorite DVD movies. It's fine for this purpose as I don't sit and watch these movies, just listen and watch my favorite scenes. This player would NOT be my first choice for watching a new movie although you, of course you could, it's like radio versus stereo. Yes, the screen is small, 8.5 inches long and 5 inches high. Yes, the volume is low. It's set to "20" and I can't imagine turning the volume down. It's LOW, and if you expect stereo quality, forget it. It's loud enough for me to watch a movie when the player is parked next to my computer or next to a pile of laundry. The main features are ok and I like the subtitle feature. But you can tell from the quality of the screen and the messages that it's a very basic, serious player. I would compare it to a regular screen CD player - you can hear the disc spinning, it's a click/play, it's not. frill. I like the light weight to carry around and the device charges quickly from a regular outlet. I can't comment on battery longevity or product quality as I've just received it, but if anything needs to be said I'll update this review. UPDATE: The battery lasts less than four hours before needing a charge. It's not a problem for me, but maybe for others.
