I had an OPI glass file before but it snapped in half in my suitcase. This one does the job just as well. Used with more force, it can reduce the length of the nail very quickly. Used with less force, you can shape nicely and unlike an emory board, you're left with a smooth edge. I still use it with an old Revlon file because this file is so thick that I find it difficult to use it to shape the sides of my nail. I file my nails into ovals. If you square off the ends, this won't be a problem for you.I have noticed that filing my nails can leave streaks in the file that won't wipe away. I don't know if this happens with more expensive nail files. But for the price, I think this is a perfectly acceptable option. I like that it comes in a box with a case and a cloth.
