POOR FILTERING on Lab & Scientific products

After plugging it in I turned on my Kenwood TS-2000 and got a flat tone around 1kHz out of the speaker regardless of the volume setting. This means that the supply voltage from the power supply had a terrible ripple. That means bad filtering or no DC filtering. It also means I would likely have that tone in my transmitted signals as well, which would be in violation of FCC rules and regulations and making communication difficult if not impossible. GOOD! THIS IS VERY TERRIBLE! I returned this PS and bought an old fashioned one. When I turned on the installation, I got the same sound! So it can't be PS. I checked and found that somehow the slide switch on my telegraph button had closed (probably during PS removal or installation) and the installation was producing a CW sidetone. So the TekPower power supply was fine and I made a mistake. Since it's always good to have a spare PSU, I intend to buy back a TekPower PSU next month. MY APologies to Tek Power.
