Review on 🔌 Dorman 742-803 Power Window Motor: The Perfect Fit for Subaru Models by Brandon Barrett

Purchasing this motor and watching YouTube videos of replacing the driver side window motor on my wife's Subaru Forester saved about $200 in labor. It took about an hour and a half, everything would have gone quicker if I had had some 6mm x 20mm bolts to temporarily replace the (loose) 3 shorter bolts holding the power window to the motor mount. I spent a good 15-20 minutes hooking the drive gear teeth into the window teeth. The longer screws hold the gear in place so you can slide it "over" the motor drive gear and align the motor mounting screw holes. For this repair, make sure you have a Philips #3 bit for the machine screws that hold the motor in place. Also, the lighted inspection mirror ($12) was very helpful for locating the screws and seeing if everything is ok. Gotta love these quick fixes that save $$$.
