Unthreaded mounting holes

I ordered these from a Subaru dealer at a much higher price having read of instances where cheaper units came without threaded bolt holes. I was surprised that the three screw holes were unthreaded on this expensive unit. After purchasing the threading kit, cutting aluminum holes was easy. However, I wonder if I could get the same motor elsewhere for a quarter of the price. When I emailed the dealer I bought it from, they told me to contact Subaru. The engine works well after installation.

Pros
  • Confident

Driver's window works again for less than $100!

Wow! My driver's window is working again and it's less than $100! He stopped working two years ago. The Subaru mechanic charged $800 for repairs. I can't pay it! So I decided to live with it. It is particularly impractical on the road. My handyman friend recently looked at this and advised me to order this part. Had some trouble getting the old one out - I think he had to cut it through the bolts. He then had to fix the bolts before using this one. But it was my car. You can be different…

Suitable for a 2000 Impreza.

If you have a 2000 Subaru Impreza, do not purchase a remanufactured imported Cardone 47-4103 window regulator motor. The Cardone I bought and had to return was completely upside down. What the original engine had on the left, the Cardone had on the right. This means that when Cardone is installed, the motor is at the top of the regulator, not the bottom, which can interfere with the movement of the glass. Also, instead of three screws, you can use just two to attach the motor to the ESC. I…

Pros
  • Nicely packaged

  • Slightly torn

This is for the left front or rear right window.

This is for left front OR rear right window. It is identical to the original except that it is made in China. Previously a commenter said how to pull this off with a ratcheting crosshead. I pierced a needle-tipped vise (I only had a 6 GET A 4 ALSO, preferably here at Revain because my local hardware store didn't have one). The screws are rusted so they can't be removed with a basic screwdriver (you'll probably just rip off the heads), and the liquid wrench didn't help. I also have 90 degree…

Fits 2003 Subaru Forester Perfect Drivers Window

Purchasing this motor and watching YouTube videos of replacing the driver side window motor on my wife's Subaru Forester saved about $200 in labor. It took about an hour and a half, everything would have gone quicker if I had had some 6mm x 20mm bolts to temporarily replace the (loose) 3 shorter bolts holding the power window to the motor mount. I spent a good 15-20 minutes hooking the drive gear teeth into the window teeth. The longer screws hold the gear in place so you can slide it "over"…

Pros
  • Great Fits Small House

  • Fits
