People need to understand that non-contact temperature testing methods will never be 100% accurate. These methods are intended to give a general idea of the non-contact temperature. No one should rely on these non-contact methods as a reliable way of reading human body temperature. That being said, this device was almost as accurate as a temporal contact thermometer and very handy for quickly checking if someone has a fever or is starting a fever without contact with that person. Anyone claiming that this unit only shows "group temps" and not individual temps either has a defective unit or they are defective as I bought two of these and they both read different temps from different people. If you use this device for a quick and easy temperature check, I recommend, but if you need a special high-precision temperature check method, I would recommend the contact device as the main application.
