Review on DuraSteel Stainless Worktable 24Ｘ18Ｘ34 Height by Greg Boulden

I love nice, clean stainless steel shelving. Thought it would be a great addition to my kitchen. When it arrived, assembly was pretty easy, just annoying. Why annoying? You can choose the height of the base plate and attach it to the smooth metal of the legs with the mounting screws in any desired position. This means you need to make sure your shelf is level either with a ruler or some other way (I used a small box). And when do you turn it on? It makes permanent dimples/dimples on each leg so you don't want to change it. Annoying to say the least. Once assembled, you'll actually notice that the legs and bottom panel are made of a completely different material than the top. Strange and very noticeable in bright light. Well I can handle that. The shelf comes with a protective film that needs to be removed from the top, but upon removal I noticed discoloration that looks like stains or grease marks. I washed the plate according to standard stainless steel cleaning recommendations - with a damp cloth and some washing-up liquid, then with a towel. Unfortunately, even a good hard cleaning with a cloth and soapy water did not wash away the marks (see photo). At that point I thought about going back, went to bed, thought about it and decided I could live with it - maybe. I can call it patina or just a character. When I came down the next morning, to my surprise, I found that the surface of the shelf was RUSTED! Tiny, speckled spots of rust had formed all over the surface overnight. THE? So sad. I have included some photos to show the marks and rusted finish. Unfortunately the box was in really terrible condition when it arrived and I practically destroyed the rest when I unpacked it so it was a huge hassle to get it back. So yes, here I am stuck with a dirty and rusty stainless steel shelf. Unfortunately for me it became a microwave shelf as it was the only way to hide surface rust. Your mileage may vary. I will definitely not buy another one from this manufacturer.
