I wear an 8 1/2 men's but they don't come in that size so I ordered a 9 and there's plenty of room for thick winter socks or maybe even boot liners which is fine. It's really hard to tell the left from the right, but there is a difference if you examine the soles. I'll be walking fairly long distances in these so I plan on getting insoles with arch support.They look great and are plenty warm but I haven't tested them down into the sub zero region yet, just around +14 F. Waterproofing seems fine after a test walk in deep slush.
