When the comforter arrived it had a strange smell. Washed according to instructions (gentle cycle, tumble dry). When I took it off, it was covered in lint from the putty and still had an odd smell even after using the odor reducer/sports cleanser with Febreeze. Those things alone would make me give it one star but I'm hoping the lint can be removed and the smell will dissipate. Interestingly, my husband doesn't mind the smell, claims it smells new. What saves the comforter is that it's quite thick and soft. The quality seems good for what I paid for it.
