A few years ago I rescued a half dead stray kitten and spent a lot of money on vet bills to save it. To repay my kindness, she decided to gnaw through every electrical wire and cable she could. Before I "discovered" the loom, she destroyed my scanner cords, two laptop power cords, some phone cords, some stereo cords, and a fan power cord. Needless to say it was quite inconvenient and also expensive. Someone told me about this substance and I bought several small packs. The auto parts store is a bit more expensive because the packages are small. I started covering the cords with it. The cat is still trying to chew it, but now quickly gives up. You get 100ft of wiring harness that comes in a large box that probably costs more to ship than the item itself. (Thank god they have free Super Saver shipping and Prime shipping.) By the time I had the whole house covered, used up I ended up getting a few boxes of this stuff, but I literally covered every wire in the house. I bought it in both the 1/4" version and the 1/2" version. The smaller one is good for thinner things like cell phone chargers, phone lines, etc. It's also good for things that want to be more flexible, like e.g. B. Curlers. However, this is too small for some applications. The 1/2 inch version works well with most electrical cords. The 1 inch version is too big for everything in my opinion. Oh, and what about the cat? Surprisingly, she never managed to electrocute herself, which is a small miracle. No longer able to chew power cords, she has turned to our shoelaces instead. :)
