This monitor can't be beat for the price! I bought it for HTPC use because I couldn't find a TV smaller than 24 inches. Contrast is better than my gaming monitor. I can't believe how sharp the picture is. I haven't tested it in games, but with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and my own x264 rips, this thing puts out a really sharp picture. I have the same background on all 3 monitors in my setup, this is the sharpest and brightest and my gaming monitor (as expected) has more depth. For the $85 I spent on it at the time of purchase, this monitor is a steal. It's perfect for movies or a college/office monitor on a budget. It has a VESA mount I currently have a pico pc on the back but you can just use it to attach the monitor to the mount. The stand was intuitive to assemble. All in all, I wouldn't be in any rush to replace a $300 high-tech model that you're looking to upgrade. de outdated, but if you're starting from scratch or looking to replace an aging 10-year-old display, this should be the monitor for you.
