Bought this to replace my OXO plastic peeler I bought 13 years ago (it still works after I changed the blade sharpened) but the tip melted on the stove: (accidentally) So I thought this one had a metal tip and it would be even better. Not so! The tip is practically useless! The plastic guy is exactly what I wanted, but it's not! I have access to all kinds of tools, so I layer it to my liking and make it sharp. But it probably won't work for you! Keep it in This is my only complaint and the reason for the -1 star. Other than that it's just as great a knife, I hope it lasts as long as my old one. within a few days yes it is VERY sharp as it should be to make the peel smooth and easy what it offers.
