My Cooking Dreams Peeler

This is a quality peeler now. Excellent materials, durable, flakes well and has a lot of weight. It also comes with a blade cover when not in use.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • ---

Very sharp and thin

However, the design can be improved. Round fruits like apples are difficult to peel. The hand feels awkward when you need to erase several of them. A slightly slanted blade position would definitely be better.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Some problems

Reliable, quality peeler

We have an ever expanding range of OXO cookware made from stainless steel, durable, comfortable and easy to clean. This peeler is no different and a welcome addition to our kitchen to replace an old, very lackluster one. It holds up well and works well for all types of peeling from potatoes and carrots to citrus peels.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Shaves fine pieces suitable for paring knives

This works well, although for some reason it shaves very fine pieces at the same time. My complaints relate more to the ergonomics. Not very convenient to use when you need a lot of exfoliation. Otherwise it's good quality and cleans well, but it seems to be taking me a little longer to do all my scrub as it shaves off smaller bits than my previous cleanser (Rachel Ray's peeler which dulled too quickly).

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Reliability

Good peeler in graters, peelers and slicers

Bought to replace my plastic OXO peeler I bought 13 years ago (it still holds tight after I changed the blade sharpened it a bit but melted the tip on the stove: (accidentally) So I thought this one had a metal tip and it would be even better. Not true! The tip is practically useless! The plastic type is exactly what I wanted , but it's not! I have access to all sorts of instruments so I'll cover and spice it up to my liking. But it probably won't work for you! Remember, this is my only…

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • There are imperfections

I love Oxo products and whenever I need a new kitchen.

I have changed my rating after some use. I love Oxo products and whenever I need a new kitchen gadget I prefer this brand to all others. The peeler blade feels blunt and doesn't make my life in the kitchen any easier. Even something as simple as peeling carrots takes longer than my old all-purpose peeler. Something more complex, like peeling a sweet potato or butternut squash, can also be difficult and time-consuming. The blade also doesn't clean food very well. I also feel like the curved part

Pros
  • Comes with a secure storage box
Cons
  • No instructions

Clogged for peeler

I have to agree with the reviewer who said that peeling potatoes with this peeler takes too long. The cap over the blade is designed to keep the chips from flying up, and it does just that. But instead they go undercover and slow things down. It is wide and obscures the view of the blade. I can peel potatoes quickly β€” thanks to all the potato peeling competitions my mom put on her kids β€” and I didn't like slowing down because I couldn't see exactly where the blade was going or where the skin…

Good knife for cleaning kitchen utensils and appliances

Bought this to replace my OXO plastic peeler I bought 13 years ago (it still works after I changed the blade sharpened) but the tip melted on the stove: (accidentally) So I thought this one had a metal tip and it would be even better. Not so! The tip is practically useless! The plastic guy is exactly what I wanted, but it's not! I have access to all kinds of tools, so I layer it to my liking and make it sharp. But it probably won't work for you! Keep it in This is my only complaint and the…
