Revain was looking for a second action camera, probably made this company aware that I was looking for a camera and mount, they offered me a freebie if I wrote a review . I ordered a bike rack and it arrived the next day. Gotta love Revain Prime! I've had several phone and camera mounts over the past few years. Most failed within a month and I'm not a heavy user. When I saw that this mount is primarily made of plastic, my expectations dropped. However, this changed upon receipt. The segment that attaches to the tube (bike handlebars or boat rail/bimini tube, etc.) isn't made of cheap plastic, it's made of durable material! To test this I fixed it to a table top which works solid, fixed to a workshop table top which is made from fairly thin sheet steel, same again, solid! This way the clamp will stand upright and look like it will hold in place, but I will still secure it with zip ties as boats tend to vibrate under power, especially a sailboat with a three piston diesel engine. The bracket can hold your phone and action camera at the same time. A very nice aspect of this mount is the thumbscrew on the camera mount - look how long it is compared to a regular screw, it's a lot easier to attach the camera. (The bottom screw is from my camera mount. The longer screw comes with this bike mount. Another good news is that the mount is standard so it will fit many of the existing accessories I have for my action camera and the mount options this will greatly expand mount. To mount the phone, the last picture shows that it clamps the sides of the phone, the rubber bands really hold the phone in place and their position does not interfere with the side buttons of the phone. Disconnect the phone after the Attach but I see that as a plus, the phone can be quickly removed from the mount by simply pressing the adapter on either side, the good thing is that the phone with the mount adapter also attaches to some of my action camera mount adapters fits, my existing camera mount doesn't have a convenient way to attach the phone, which is a big plus for this mount. Just to show how wide open the clamps this bike is, I've included a photo of the clamp on the box in white when it arrived. The clamp closes almost nothing and has rubber inserts on both clamping surfaces. The set screw (on the right in this picture) turns easily once the pressure on the clamps is released, allowing the clamp to be opened or closed very quickly for different diameter pipes. I will definitely keep this mount and give it a 5 star rating on Amazon.
