Don't worry about those cheap, underpowered pumps that are either noisy or can pump enough air to get the job done. The thing is durable and very quiet. Loud, of course, but it's hard to hear because of the gurgling sound. Yes, the bubbles are "louder" than the pump itself. I have it running constantly with two 6" Airstones and the other two ports are connected with knotted tubing. There is an adjustable dial to turn on and off and control the The big one is like a volcano in the air and I have to bend down to get the desired effect.I've tried cheaper pumps and they either fail quickly or can even pump air out of the rock or just a little.Super quiet ,high air volume and feels solid.Worth a few bucks more.Recommend
