Per the person in customer service, the item is a "new model ".
Being a new model the bugs weren't quite worked out. "After" I installed it, it didn't work. I called and the person onthe other end was nice but I didn't order customer service, I ordered a garage door opener that was supposed to work.If in my business we sold product that required the mfg to send a part to correct the problem we wouldn't be in business. It seemed they knew there would be a problem. The guy in customer service sent the replacement board that corrected the problem. It works great now. My concern now is the warranty is only for 3 years on that board.
- The one we ordered was not in stock, so Genie upgraded to a SilentMax 1200. It works great!
- The Genie SilentMax 1000 opener lacks versatility when it comes to customizing settings
