I wanted a small "quiet" desk clock to put by the TV and see the time in the living room. but no luck finding it. I chose this one because it's really pretty and stylish, but at night I couldn't always tell where the skinny arms were. Bought a set of thick arms to replace but the holes didn't match the stock. I love craft projects so I decided to see if I could change that. I removed the arms, glued strips of black paper to the top and bottom of each arm to hold them securely, and cut them to shape. Then I cut small circles out of black paper with a hole punch and glued them to the clock so they can be seen better. I also repainted the wood white to hide the rustic finish and now it's perfect. Now the time is easy to read even in the dim light of the lamp. It is very good that there is no glass front, which makes working easier. If the movement ever needs to be replaced, it is very easy to do. I intend to use this for the rest of my life :=) Love it!
