In my blackwater tank I have sparkling gourami, one male and three females. My snags were enough to add tannins to the water, but I've had them for about two years and they eventually dried up, and as my water cleared the sparkling gourami stopped croaking and brooding. One leaf added few tannins to the water, so I added three total and the water darkened nicely. I could hear the croaking again and see the male busy working on the bubble nest. They didn't lower the pH much, the tank went from 6.5 to 6.2. The sheets are true to size and arrived in good condition.
