I have mixed feelings about this tank. Cons First: Holds a gallon of water though. About 1/3 of that is in the bottom tank, so the actual usable space is much smaller. I feel like a Betta should be at least 3 gallons and I have two, one is 3 and the other is 5. The motor is quite noisy and at times it distracts me. The lid design could be reconsidered a bit. . . it snaps into place quite hard so it's hard to take it off or take it off. The good news is that a baby or cat cannot confuse him, the bad news is that feeding your pet will be difficult unless you decide to forgo the plant option. The light has a blinking setting that doesn't make sense unless you're trying to drive yourself and your fish crazy. Otherwise, there's a lot to like here. The light on the highest setting is actually too bright, but the other two settings are good and my fish seem to like it. The flow of the water is gentle and I found that my fish's fins (which started looking tatty at 5 gallons) began to heal and they became more active and less stressed. The lower part is large and in addition to the two included filters you can add a section for bioactive filter material. stupid side . . I hate being able to hold and charge the phone. Maybe someone in an apartment or with limited counter space needs this feature, but I'd prefer my phone to be away from the aquarium. I'd like to see how long this lasts and I'm interested in a version that was maybe 2 gallons. Execution. I would buy without hesitation.
