Review on πŸ”§ SP 9901 Miscellaneous by Prime Line Products by Eric Williamson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great range and quality especially for the price

I needed several different sizes of compression springs for a prop replica I'm working on and thinking about that I might as well try this bundle as it costs less than I would spend at my local hardware store to select the 5 individual springs I need ($4.37 with Prime Add-On shipping at the time of purchase ). , and boy am I glad I did! Attached is a picture of the range of nibs I received and whilst I assume this will vary from packet to packet I think the manufacturer has done a great job of putting together the most useful range when the range is in Broadly corresponds to my one package. . pack like this. The vast majority of springs are compression springs, perfect for my needs and most other projects. They range from extremely light to extremely heavy resistance curves, so extreme that I would label the lightest and heaviest springs as specialty items, making them better to have on hand than to hunt for when I need them. All nibs have a nice black, slightly metallic finish, somewhere between brushed nickel and black chrome, which makes them blend in very well rather than stand out. Only time will tell how well the springs hold up the resistance curves, but from those I've hand-tested they don't seem to stiffen measurably, and a set of calipers measures an average loss of just 12 microns. Length after 50 full compression cycles on 10 springs, which is within error. All in all, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. They will be great to have on hand in the store.

Pros
  • Made from strong spring steel (hardened steel wire) for optimum stretch under pressure
Cons
  • Not bad but...
