It has enough power to run multiple hard drives, HDMI, and a trackball adapter on an iPad Air. I first used a cheaper USB-C hub for my Macbook Air and upgraded the USB-C charger from 30W to 60W, but when trying to transfer large batches of files between drives, even with one drive connected to the Hub plugged in and the other plugged directly into the Mac's USB port and nothing into the HDMI port, I had issues with drives falling out. This Belkin hub has over 100W of power for distribution between hubs equipped with floppy drives, various USB dongles, an HDMI monitor driver (requires a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter cable), and a Mac via a Thunderbolt connection are connected. I still leave one drive connected directly to the Mac's second Thunderbolt port for faster data transfer through the MacBook's two Thunderbolt ports, rather than bi-directional transfer through just one port connected to a hub.
