Acrylic plates were needed specifically for the chimney cover which we don't use. I put it there with double sided velcro so I could take it off and put it away when we decide to use the fireplace. This met our requirements. My husband trimmed it but it ripped in a couple of places while cutting so we would have bought a lot more had we known this was going to happen. You can't see any cracks or fissures until you get close. He said it was easy to cut. Well packaged, arrived early, no complaints!
