This filter has no "fresh smell". Rather, it deodorizes any stench your air system is giving off. When I turn off the air conditioning on my Toyota Tacoma in the summer, I get a musty smell as the vents start to dry. After installation, this cabin filter filters 98% of the odor from the exhaust air. My previous filters (including the one with the charcoal feature) didn't remove the stench. So I know it works! Not overpriced, fits perfectly. I gave four stars because there is still a slight odor after turning off the air. But it's hardly noticeable. I would definitely get it again.
