The clamp is horizontal, not vertical and can rotate, but for some reason this was not allowed in the design. Because of this, without a perfect walking frame, you cannot secure your bike without pinching the brake cable or twisting the bike. The same goes for frame lean, this will cause the bike to lean. Also, since you're standing against a wall, you'll have a hard time pedaling and touching anything on the left. As for storage, great idea. However, the supplied hardware is pure junk. These are wood screws at best, and the material is easy to remove. I unscrewed all 4 and the angle makes it almost impossible to just screw in. Use your own mounting hardware but be aware that the clamp will get in the way so you will likely need a long screwdriver but better quality screws are definitely required. Dissatisfied. For the price, I'd rather spend 2X and get a proper repair stand, but I thought it was a cool concept. I recommend all folding clips to designers. It could have been made crucial, but I've already spent an hour ruining the post trying to install it, I'm in no mood to repeat it. The clip lining isn't even grippy.
