My asthma has been terrible this winter and I keep waking up with terrible headaches, my skin is dry on a good day etc. So I tried this humidifier. I wanted warm air to see if there's a difference, and if so, a small one. It definitely helps my asthma, night time breathing problems, my skin and I wake up from the cold dry air without a headache so it's definitely worth it. I just don't notice a big difference between the heating function and the normal one. The heating function works, it is a very slight heat, but you can feel it when you touch the device. This means there is no risk of burns or damage to your furniture. I was worried that the water might damage my furniture but other than the water when I fill the tank there is no problem. The steam/mist is so nice - furniture, carpet, bedding etc are not damp at all! This is probably the most impressive part of it and well worth the extra money compared to cheaper devices. It will cycle through a full tank of water every 16 hours IF it's on heat and full power. So unless you run it at full power, heated or constant, the tank should last 2 nights. Cleaning isn't a problem yet, and I have pristine water, so that won't be a problem. I've used an essential oil pad but it doesn't make much of a difference or seems to smell for the past few hours. It's very subtle and not worth it. I will use the oil and seals I have but won't buy anymore. My bedroom/bathroom is about 500 square feet and it definitely shows the whole area when it works. I am still very happy with this device. and I'm glad I bought it cheaper. I hope this lasts a long time and I think anyone with asthma or who wants to reap the benefits of using a humidifier in winter or otherwise will benefit.
