Highly recommended for secure hooks for horses.
Hang them in our barn aisle. You can easily hold lead ropes, bridles, halters, etc. They'll probably hold 10 pounds each with some hook deflection. I wouldn't leave something heavy indefinitely. They do NOT hold a bucket of water etc, they don't have that rigidity. But anything rubbing on the hook will only bend/bend it. I don't think there is any other way to damage anything other than the eye.
