I purchased two sets of these mats for my home gym and set them up about two weeks ago. Ever since I opened the package, there is this oily (like crude oil or petroleum) smell coming from the mats. There is also the slippery feeling of some substance on the mats, presumably what the smell is coming from. I'm unsure if this chemical residue is safe for using on workout foam that you lie down on and touches your skin. It also makes getting a good grip while working out difficult, especially with any TRX or suspension system where you need to lean, etc. (I've tried with shoes, bare feet, socks, all somewhat slippery and hard to get a decent angle/grip).It looks decent and it provide some padding from the floor (although not much) which is why I gave this product two stars. Honestly, if I knew this product would be like this, I would have looked elsewhere.
