Review on DB Tech Bamboo Compact Foldable Slicer by Nicole Jones

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Super upset that this wasn't an answer.

I've been using this for about two weeks and I'm sad I've had enough. I just irrationally threw a whole loaf of bread in the trash out of frustration. It would be great if it was made out of something like diamond, marble or kevlar. Basically I went from the problem of uneven slices of bread to the problem of how not to eat the broken pieces. The grooves are significantly wider than those of a bread knife and therefore cannot hold the knife securely in a 90 degree vertical, so at the slightest unintended angle a quality knife will start slicing the bamboo shavings along with the bread. If your knife is too far off center it will end up cutting a deep groove in the side of the groove that you will no doubt get stuck in every time, rendering those grooves pretty much useless forever. It really looked like the top rated option for not buying an electric slicer so I don't even know where to go next.

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Non-automatic
