This is my second NEO as the first one had no fan and also arrived cosmetically damaged. IMHO NEO should not be used without a fan helmet as when comparing the performance/temps with and without the fan it wasn't clear why. With no fan, I reached over 170 degrees Fahrenheit. With the fan hat on and off, I averaged 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The main problem is removing the cover during use, otherwise the heat will just roll in without escaping. I had a rough time with NEO when it hit the highest temperatures, literally frying scrambled eggs at the highest temperatures.
