After reading some reviews about the white printer I chose this one mainly because of the contrasting color of the printed instructions. There were slightly fewer reviews for this particular device compared to the white model, but the only one that seemed worrying was one that said they had received the device with an altered date. Of course I checked the manufacture date as soon as I received it and I had a brand new unit manufactured in January 2019 and not one that had been on the shelf for 2 years because the color was blah. Kudos to Amazon :) The date of manufacture is stamped in red, so it's quite difficult to change. Another review says there is a spark when plugged in because they didn't read the instructions to turn off the power before plugging it in. Although low current/voltage power consumption is an important step when dealing with electronics that operate in the milliamp range. It would be very easy to even fry the circuit board with a spark. Save yourself the embarrassment, turn off the power and read the instructions. Very easy installation, power, ground and two screws for wall mounting. It's also nice to have two different gauges showing what type of gas it's detecting, I liked that.
