I bought a small tall exo terrarium with plans to get a tree (climbing) gecko. I ended up buying a cheaper and easier leopard gecko that is not an arboreal species so I didn't need the height that this terrarium offers but despite my changed decision this terrarium is still a great home for my pet. Here is a list of pros and cons. ADVANTAGES Excellent ventilation system on the sides and top, allowing fresh air to flow freely into the terrarium. A heavy duty metal shade on top that can support thermal lighting and other things you need to get out of the way. High quality glass doors that won't wobble and have a strong latch at the bottom. (They also have holes for a combination lock) The top panel has a socket for cords in case you need a humidifier or anything with a cord to run the cords through the small holes in the top (these holes are too small for any Life Food to Escape) The background looks great and makes the case neat and tidy. The underside under the vents is waterproof which is great for amphibians. It is very spacious and allows many decoration options. The design looks sooooo pretty and the doors are the same as other brands. (looks best if you clean it regularly) Shipping was good and the package arrived on time with no damage CONS The terrarium does not hold moisture well. (This problem can be solved with an electric humidifier.) The background is made of styrofoam, which can be a problem for some people. It is difficult to find a floor mat that fits these dimensions. This terrarium is quite heavy and I would advise you to put it down. On a hard surface and not too high (if it falls on someone it could be bad), overall this is a very high quality terrarium and totally worth the money. Some of the accessories you will need include a mat/pad, food and water bowls, a heat lamp, decorative plants, vitamin supplements to sprinkle on your pet's food, a thermometer and moisture sensor, and a moisture source (depending on your pet). ) and a heating pad (optional but recommended). My gecko loves this place (I think) and has never had a problem with it. Compared to the terrariums I have had in the past, this is THE BEST. In some of my previous experiences with the terrarium I have had problems with cracks and sediment deposits, with exo terra this was not a problem. Exo Terra did not disappoint and I will continue to use their products.
